Monday Updates….mmmkay?

Posted in blog | Tagged , , , , , | Leave a comment
I’m in training all week for my “real life” job, so my internet socialization is probably going to be a bit sparse as a result – and that probably includes blogging for some of this week (unless people want blog posts about Exchange  Server 2010. Which I highly doubt.). I suspect my NaNo attempt has been completely derailed at this point as well – I’m in class all week this week and also at the end of the month – between that and the book release/con stuff/blog tour stuff? I’m pretty tapped out. I *am* still writing daily, just not as much as I should be for NaNo. Ah, well. Anyway, I’ll just throw up some fun stuff today – first off, the picture here is a fab design by Aimo – it’s up on Threaded and we’d love it if you could go vote for it! (It could end… Read more

Tuesday Morning Shiny

Posted in blog | Tagged , , , , , , | 1 Comment
I’m stuck working from home today with freaked out nerve and hoping a day of ice will calm it down, so today’s post is just going to be full of silly things that make me laugh. First off is this lovely Abby/Brystion sketchcard by Aimo, commissioned as a gift for Danielle.  (And no, it doesn’t make me laugh, but it sure does make me smile.) You know what else makes me smile? Looking at the proofs for the Fox & Willow comic! We’re so close to starting it up (next week!) and I can’t wait to start posting it – Aimo has truly outdone herself. The artwork is fabulous (and I only hope my storytelling abilities do it justice.) Otherwise, a few other bits of random wtfkery… For some reason I can’t stop playing it. It’s so messed up, and yet so terribly catchy. And then I’ve got this lovely… Read more

Word Whore Thursday

Posted in blog | Tagged , , , | Leave a comment
I’ve actually pulled in another guest poster for my normal weekly Word Whore blog. (And there will be another one next week as well.) I was lamenting that fact a bit last night because this week’s topic was foreign TV shows and I would have loved to talk about anime…but the deadline continues to loom and I have to streamline my time. (And I totally screwed up this weekend – I was supposed to have done my monthly League of Reluctant Adults post on Saturday and completely forgot.) Anyway, in the meantime, have a shiny – this is a sketchcard done by Aimo for the winner of the sketchcard contest Jeffe held for me on her blog during A Sliver of Shadow’s release week. (Such pretty colors!!) (There’s another shiny coming, but I can’t post it yet because the person doesn’t know about it. Ha ha.)  … Read more

Muddle Headed

Posted in blog | Tagged , , , , , , , | Leave a comment
Sometimes it’s really awesome having artist friends – especially when you’re having a crappy day and they send you cute sketches of your DA2 character making out with smexy Fenris. (TY, Aimo! mwah!) Yeah. Anyway – so the thing about trying to keep up the blog here ever day is that it feels sort of odd. I’d always tried to keep the more “quality” posts here and the more random ones over at Blogger, but here I am. I spent a fair amount of time going through some of those imported posts this weekend, particularly on Saturday -right now I’ve only got the last year’s worth actually set up.  It’s a tad frustrating at times, because I realized I tended to get a lot more comments on the Blogger blog than here, but when I imported the posts here, I had to make a decision as to how I was… Read more

Frame This

Posted in blog | Tagged , , | Leave a comment
Okay – sorry about the lousy photos – I just have no skillz and there was a crazy reflection coming off the glass, but what I really wanted to do here was plug the place I bought the frames from. If you have sketchcard/trading cards and are looking to frame them – definitely check out https://www.framemytradingcard.com You can get the matting in a bunch of different colors and there’s all sorts of different sizes to choose from. (And if you don’t see what you want, contact them – they’re really good about custom orders.) But what really sealed it for me was that the backs of the mats actually have little pocket/edges you can slide the cards into so they stay in place. 🙂 The cards themselves are actually commissioned sketches by Aimo of my BoD characters, plus one Hawke/Fenris shot. Just because. And actually, since I was on a… Read more
