RWA Bound

Okay – so I’m doing a little last minute scrambling to get everything together, but as of tomorrow morning I’ll be on a train bound for NYC to attend the RWA convention. 🙂 I’m trying to pack lighter/smaller this time around simply because I’m tired of hauling around a massive suitcase. I don’t know if I’ll have much luck or not, but I guess we’ll see what happens. I’ll be at the Literacy Signing tomorrow at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square from 5:30 until 7:30 tomorrow and the Pocket Books signing on Friday from 12:00 until 1:30.  (And on a scary note, I’m being filmed on Wednesday as part of an Urban Fantasy roundtable over at Simon & Schuster. Back from Vacation

Because it just wouldn’t be vacation without picking up a Hello Kitty basket knockoff from the Bahamas. Freeport to be exact. 🙂 Anyway, I’m a little tired at the moment, so I’m not going to recap much here, but I’m back. I’m doing a mountain of laundry. I refuse to get on the scale. (OMG, the food. THE FOOD. The amount of bacon I ate at breakfast every morning should probably be considered a crime against pigmanity.) Of course the downside to that is how big my backside got, but I’ll get back on the diet wagon after RWA this week. (’cause really what’s the point?) Anyway – a few minor observations: 1)Grand Turk is full of donkeys. Lining Up My Ducks

Okay, just as an FYI – the next few weeks are going to be a bit of a mess. I’m going to be completely offline for at least one week (and that includes phone as well – no signal where I’m going.)  And yeah, it always takes me three days or so before I stop feeling like a wolf stuck in a trap trying to gnaw its own foot off. Sad, I know. Internet addiction. I haz it. I may pre-load my unofficial blog  with man candy off and on, but that sorta depends on how busy I get tomorrow with packing. (And last minute shopping. Ramblings

You know what’s awesome? Getting actual fan mail where people offer to be part of my “Street Team.” (Which are people who just love the book so much they offer to hand out promo for it. These people are made of gold. I know it.) I put awesomesauce booksellers into this pile also, particularly the ones who go out of their way to sell the hell out of the books they love. You can pay for all the promo in the world, but when it comes down to it, it’s about word-of-mouth more than anything else. Sorta makes it all worthwhile.
