I Don’t Owe You Jack

Followers. We all want them. On Twitter. Facebook. Our blogs. Tumblr. Whatever. There’s a certain niceness in thinking that our words are being heard when we toss them out into the void, but just because we put them out there, it doesn’t mean anyone is required to respond. (I waxed poetic about this particular topic in an earlier post a while back…) Jeffe had a good point on her blog post the other day about the perception of using social media to sell books – and how a social media guru at RWA last week told her why twitter is worse than facebook. Now, the thing is – media is only as good as you use it. If all you’re doing is parroting is “BUY MY CRAP” then it probably doesn’t matter what platform you use. Fox & Willow Swag

Just wanted to give a shout out to Robin over at Robin Ludwig Design for the lovely postcards she helped design. 🙂 I’ve been wanted to create a little F&W swag for a while now and these larger sized 5 x 7 postcards are just beautiful.  (Look for them at AAD next week!!!) I also want to thank Robin for her help with the photobooth design as well (explained in the last blog post). Haven’t gotten those yet, but I can’t wait  to see them when they get in. For all the talk of whether swag works or not, it really helps to have pros in your corner making it look the best that it can. And of course, new Fox & Willow up today, as per usual.… Read more

Shiny Bling

More Friday shinies…but only part of it. See, I commissioned Jakface for a series of 4 pictures. As though Abby and Talivar were in one of those mall photobooths. But Ion’s a troll. And Phin’s a derp-faced photobomber. Hilarity ensues. Crash and Burn

I went to bed at 10 PM last night – which for me, is *super* early. I don’t usually even head upstairs until between 12:30 and 1 AM most nights, but every once in a while I hit a wall and that’s it. One of those burning the candle at both ends things. And last week was complicated because I was sick and for various reasons just didn’t get enough rest. And games. I’ve been sucked into games again…and I’m just going to have to stop playing for a while. Which I hate, but there’s  too much to do, and the games have become a distraction I can’t afford right now. Maybe once a week or something, after everything else is done. So I hit the wall and my eyes were burning and that was it. Boom. Passed out and woke up feeling better.
