Midnight Shinies

One elvish prince, coming up! (For those of you who want a sneak peek. Talivar makes a brief appearance at the end of A Brush of Darkness, but is a major character in A Sliver of Shadow). The awesome Darchala has sent me this lovely rough sketch of Talivar for his upcoming trading card. I dig the beardy stuff so much, I think I’m going to change it in the book. Bumming Around

I’m supposed to be lying on the beach right now. Or really, I should be having a delicious dinner *after* lying on the beach all day. But, thanks to a certain hurricane sweeping up the East Coast on the ONE WEEKEND I was going to go to the beach this summer…not so much. So, mr myn and I dropped the kids off at daycare and just had a day. Small errands. Went out to lunch. Bought a shirt at Old Navy. Saw Captain America. Visited a car audio store. (Long and short answer is…I don’t like the speakers in the new car. There actually *is* a subwoofer there already. And it sucks. Will probably get a whole new set of speakers and a real sub. I hate to be a music snob. I do. But I spend so much time sitting in traffic in my car and the music is… Read more

Win, Fail and WTFkery

Late night post tonight. Last day or so has been a bit of a crazy mess. Win:  I bought a new car. It’s a Kia Sorento – basically a glorified mommy mobile, but it should do the job nicely, so that’s good. Plus I got a good number on my trade in. Fail: Going to Best Buy today to see about getting a subwoofer installed in said Kia. (I like a little extra junk in the trunk, so to speak.) Said experience went like this: 1) Get to Best Buy. Linger around the Mobile section. Watch as salesboys gawk at me and walk by without offering to help. Because I have bewbs and therefore couldn’t POSSIBLY know wtf I want. 2) Sales boy comes up finally and asks me what he can help me with.
