Visit the participating blogs listed below for the RaffleCopter links and requirements! As a bonus, I’ve also dropped the ebook price to .99 for the next week or so, so if you were looking for a gift for yourself or someone else, now is the time to jump on it! It’s my birthday next week, but I figured I’d celebrate by doing a giveaway of my own here. Basically, two winners – your choice of a signed copy of either Magpie’s Song or Magpie’s Fall, whichever you like. Open worldwide. (Prefer an ebook? I can do that too – just let me know!) Contest will end next Wednesday (my bday, yo) and I’ll do the drawing on Thursday. Prizes mailed out shortly after that. Look how pretty!! –> So how do you enter? Easy way is in the comments below – I had a pretty crazy summer – so tell me something good that happened and share the love. The rest of the options – the tweets and the FB page stuff are just extras to earn you extra chances. Also the newsletter – I don’t send out a lot of stuff on it, but it’s worth an extra… Read more
I don’t make resolutions for New Years. I’ve never really had much success with that sort of thing – coming up with an arbitrary day to start something – a new process or a dietary regimen or whathaveyou. I mean, the concept is fine – whatever it is you want to do, you have to start somewhere, so the first day of the new year is as good a time to start as any, I suppose. And I’m looking back over the past year with a curious eye – what I did manage to do, what I could have done better – what I want to do this upcoming year. I’m terrible at managing time – no matter how many planners I try to work with, I’m good for a week or so and then it’s like I decide they’re merely guidelines anyway. Not that I won’t continue to try… Read more
It’s here! Carniepunk is officially out today – so here’s your chance to finally fine out whats going on with Melanie and how she got her magic violin! 🙂 (And read a ton of other fantastic stories by some of the best UF authors in the business, of course.) It’s been a long ride getting this book out to the readers – several years in the making, in fact – and I’m so grateful that it’s finally here and happening. That being said, I’ve got a copy in my hands to give away to some lucky duck – so if you’d like a chance to win, leave a comment down below and tell me what’s your favorite carnival/theme park ride. (I’m partial to the Scrambler, incidentally.) Open until Wednesday at midnight, EDT. International entries are fine. 🙂 Normally, the random winner would be chosen via hedgehog, but seeing as my… Read more
Looking for something fun to do today to shake off some of the negativity of the last few posts, so I’m going to do a flash-fiction writing prompt. I don’t normally do them, but they can be fun, and hey, prizes. Or *a* prize, I guess. I’ll mail a random winner a cover flat of A Trace of Moonlight (or any other cover flat/swag thing user wants). So here’s the picture: Post 500 words or less in the comments below. You’ve got until some random time on Friday or Saturday to get it done and I’ll draw on Sunday. 🙂 Incidentally, the title of the picture is called “Waiting” by Donato Giancola. (Check out the gallery for a ton of additional artwork – lots of familiar book covers in there.) What is she waiting for? Death? A lover? Alien Bears? Only YOU can say.… Read more
