Monday Updates….mmmkay?

I’m in training all week for my “real life” job, so my internet socialization is probably going to be a bit sparse as a result – and that probably includes blogging for some of this week (unless people want blog posts about Exchange  Server 2010. Which I highly doubt.). I suspect my NaNo attempt has been completely derailed at this point as well – I’m in class all week this week and also at the end of the month – between that and the book release/con stuff/blog tour stuff? I’m pretty tapped out. I *am* still writing daily, just not as much as I should be for NaNo. Ah, well. Mini WFC Recap

So I’m finally back home after several lovely days up in Toronto for World Fantasy Con. Back being an operative word since I’m fighting a killer cold and trying to catch up on sleep and work emails. But as much fun as I had, it’s always nice to come home to my own bed. So – a few highlights. Toronto was nice, but the hotel was way out of the way of the downtown area, which meant I didn’t get a chance to see and do everything I wanted. Cabs were ridiculously expensive and some friends had cars, but traffic was an absolute nightmare. (Took one friend over 2 hours to get from the city to the hotel one evening, after taking her about 30 minutes going in the opposite direction.) Happy Release Day to…Me :D

Guess there’s not much else to say! 😀 A Trace of Moonlight is now officially on sale, and I really hope you all enjoy it. Go here for excerpt and links to buy! (Fellow Word-Whore Carolyn Crane and my agency sister, Sandy Williams both have new releases today too, so go check them out!) Otherwise, I’m just hunkering down today  – as noted, my scheduled Shindig with Sandy Williams was cancelled for this evening and will be rescheduled for a later date. Updates and Sundry

Lots of links and catching up to do today, so let me get started.  First of all, I am going to do NaNoWriMo this year! I’ve done it before, but the last few years I was right in the middle of a deadline and couldn’t spare the time, but this year it falls inside a perfect window. I’m working on a new project and I figure it would be a great way to get my ass in gear. If you’re interested in adding me a a writing buddy – I go by mynfel, so feel free to add me. 🙂 (And I’d love to set up some sort of virtual write-in a few times over the month, so let me know if that’s something you’d like to be part of.) Little Headaches

So yesterday’s post got waylaid in several hours of me sitting in traffic on my way to the dentist. Because it was raining. And when it rains, people in the DC area freak out and forget how to drive. So my 20 minute commute to the dentist took me nearly 2 hours. (15 miles, btw.) And I had lost all my blog-writing mojo by the time I got back. At least as far as not turning the post into a massive rant about how much DC drivers suck. (“The sky is falling! The sky is falling! Guess I better drive AS SLOW AS POSSIBLE. IN CASE I ROLL OVER IN THIS MYSTERIOUS WET LIQUID THAT I’VE NEVER SEEN BEFORE!”) *ahem* No, I’m not bitter or anything.
