Bumming Around

I’m supposed to be lying on the beach right now. Or really, I should be having a delicious dinner *after* lying on the beach all day. But, thanks to a certain hurricane sweeping up the East Coast on the ONE WEEKEND I was going to go to the beach this summer…not so much. So, mr myn and I dropped the kids off at daycare and just had a day. Small errands. Went out to lunch. Bought a shirt at Old Navy. Saw Captain America. Visited a car audio store. (Long and short answer is…I don’t like the speakers in the new car. There actually *is* a subwoofer there already. And it sucks. Will probably get a whole new set of speakers and a real sub. I hate to be a music snob. I do. But I spend so much time sitting in traffic in my car and the music is… Read more

Okay – I’m all over the place today! First up is my usual weekly post over at Word Whores – this week we’re discussing our favorite street corners. (Odd topic and strangely hard to write.) Win, Fail and WTFkery

Late night post tonight. Last day or so has been a bit of a crazy mess. Win:  I bought a new car. It’s a Kia Sorento – basically a glorified mommy mobile, but it should do the job nicely, so that’s good. Plus I got a good number on my trade in. Fail: Going to Best Buy today to see about getting a subwoofer installed in said Kia. (I like a little extra junk in the trunk, so to speak.) Said experience went like this: 1) Get to Best Buy. Linger around the Mobile section. Watch as salesboys gawk at me and walk by without offering to help. Because I have bewbs and therefore couldn’t POSSIBLY know wtf I want. 2) Sales boy comes up finally and asks me what he can help me with. Happy Birthday to Me

Lovely wishes from my DG-fangirl friend Renee came in the mail on Saturday. Yes it’s a button. No I’m not actually wearing it in the office, but I did post it up in my cube. It’s raised a few eyebrows. *ahem* Anyway, birthdays are always odd days for me so I don’t think on them much when they’re here – especially since I’m not doing much to celebrate it today. (Car shopping notwithstanding – think I’ll be making a purchase today, but that’s less of a Birthday thing than pure necessity.) Tomorrow I”ll be doing a nice dinner with mr myn over at The Melting Pot, because I adore fondue. And I’ll probably make a cake tonight with the kids, but otherwise? Low key, all the way.… Read more
