Links and Updates and Things

Posted in blog | Tagged , , , , , , | Leave a comment
So it occurs to me that I’ve been rather lax in updating my website with a few key things. First off – I’m over at SF Signal’s Mind Meld today, weighing in about Faerie (along with several other fabulous authors, including Seanan McGuire and Julie Kagawa) – so go check it out! Also, if I haven’t mentioned it before, I’ve got a set of signed Abby Sinclair books (and trading cards) up for auction at the Brenda Novak Online Auction for Diabetes, so if you are interested in donating to a great cause, please check that out as well. And the hard copy version of Womanthology Space is available for pre-order too – if you were unable to get a copy of Issue #5 and wanted to read my story, The Wind in Her Hair – you can find it here. So I guess the only thing left to talk about… Read more

Monday Morning Updates

I hate the fact that I didn’t blog but once last week. There are a number of reasons for this. New job stuff has left my brain a pile of mush for much of the time, and while it’s good stuff that I’m learning, I am running out of energy at the end of the day to do much more than attempt to recover enough to get some writing done.  And the writing needs to come first right now. 78k in…and no end in sight. >_< (Yes, I’m reposting an image Aimo drew for me last year when I was hurting. No, I wouldn’t turn down a Fenris oil massage right now. At all. It’s just one of those sorts of days.) I find the lack of blogging irritating though, since for several years I’ve managed to blog every day about *something* – even if it’s not the hot topic… Read more

Womanthology Space!

Posted in blog | Tagged , , | 2 Comments
It’s officially out! Lots of different places to buy it from, but I’m linking over to Comixology for the digital convenience. My 6 page story is called The Wind in Her Hair – and yes, it’s The Little Mermaid…retold with genderswapped steampunk robots. Because I can. (Obviously I’d love it if you guys could spread the word and let me know what you think, but I’m just super happy to have it finally released.)… Read more

Womanthology

This is the cover for the 5th issue of Womanthology Space which should be out on Feb 13th. I’ve got a 6 page comic story in there called Comet, which is a slight retelling of The Little Mermaid with steampunk robots. (and genderbent – so the “prince” is a girl and the robot is a boy. I actually found this pretty hard to do – I’m not a short story teller and I don’t know if I was able to pull it off the way I wanted, but hopefully you guys will like it!  (It’s got a very whimsical Wizard of Oz feel to it, thanks to the artistic talents of Chrissie Zullo.) I don’t have a pre-order link for it on Amazon yet, but I’ve seen it around at a couple of online shops (Things From Another World, Westfield Comics, etc.) I’m guessing it will be on IDW’s site… Read more

Off and On

Posted in blog | Tagged , , , , | Leave a comment
Guess I’m officially taking off for the week, more or less. I can’t promise any blogging about the conference as it happens, though I’ll certainly try to take pictures. (I always say that…and then I almost never take any. Weird.) But tonight it’s packing and getting things together and then tomorrow I’ll hit the road. It’s going to be a busy couple of days, not only because of the con, but I got hit with the deadline for my story in the Womanthology issue yesterday. Script is due…Friday. So I have to fit that in around everything else. Hell, this whole month is like that – I’m working on polishing my short story. I have a proposal to write. I have other projects to do and a few websites to develop. In short? Booked solid for the rest of this month. It’s actually kinda crazy. *breathes deep* But first things… Read more
