Rambling…and Title Contest Winner

Obviously I didn’t blog yesterday, but it was Easter and we had family stuff to do. Plus, I’m starting to get a little more selfish with my time (if that’s even remotely possible.) But I am trying to cut myself a bit of a break from time to time and I decided to let yesterday slip through the cracks. And really, on a good note, I was able to rebuild that 4k I hacked from last week and get some additional words in…and now I’m all caught up to where I was (and hopefully the book is headed in a better direction. *I* feel a little better about it anyway, and that’s probably all that matters.) Hmmm. Maybe I *should* be blogging less? Otherwise, things are starting to get back on their normal schedules. Please Hush

My characters are Chatty Kathies of the worst sort. I had a few hours of free time last night, sans family. Thought I’d take advantage of that and try to get in some solid writing time, that *wasn’t* at midnight. I’ll admit that I’ve been feeling a little ambivalent about this third book. Partially because of the way the last few weeks have gone and partially because of some stuff happening behind the scenes.  But I also know that when it seems like I’m actively avoiding working on the ms, it’s probably because I’m heading down the wrong path. This is one of those panster type things, I guess. And I don’t really like to go back and edit a first draft as I’m writing it. Meh.

Clearly I didn’t blog today. Partially this is because Dragon Age 2 has taken over my world at night. Late nights make me bleary and unable to put thoughts together. *ahem* (And by the way? Trying to rivalmance emo elf-warrior Fenris and having the romance portion not go through correctly? Sucks. He turned against me and I had to kill him. *sobs* Also, btw? The whole “I have no memory, but I have all these lyrium tattoos all over my body that help me kill and I didn’t ask for them” routine? Um. Wolverine much?) But mostly because yes, yours truly is now being treated for strep. Bleah. So. Yeah. Keys to the Kingdom

It wasn’t until last week when I was trying to get into my mother-in-law’s house with extra food that I realized none of my keys worked on her front door. Awkward, especially given I’d told her I had one and sure, I’d be happy to get there early to help set things up before people started showing up after the funeral. *shrugs* Story of my life, I suppose – but in some ways, I think keys really are some of the best examples of people’s life details. You can see what types of cars I drive, for example. You can see that I obviously shop at Giant. And CVS. And I’ve got a nice little shout out to David Garrett there too, simply because I’m a dork. But then it gets a bit puzzling. I’ve got my housekey. My PO Box key. And…I have NO friggin clue about the rest… Read more
