*Grumbles* Part the Second

Okay, I’m not sure why I seem to be so utterly hopeless in the land of technology this month, but can I just take a moment here to ask the universe to get over itself? Please? Dell is taking their sweet time getting back to me with any sort of shipping date for the replacement machine…because they’re harvesting parts from older machines to make one sort of like what I currently have. Which of course, is probably close to impossible, since the thing was 3 years old and they don’t make those parts any more. At this rate, it will probably take just as long for them to build the thing as it would for me to wait for that original motherboard! The sick thing is that for about $2000 I could just order my own parts today, have them by Friday and build a new rig over the weekend.…

‘Cause It’s All About *Me*, or at Least Seven Things You Didn’t Know…

Well, no, it’s not. But the extreme craziness of my weekend and the fact that I just spent four hours trying to retrieve files off the old hard drive from the broken Dell has done nothing to improve my mood. So, we’ll round off this week with another Meme, as I was tagged by Danica on her blog a few days ago. I’m not really sure how much I haven’t already said on the blog, but here goes. 1) I hate fish. In fact, I hate all seafood. As ironic as it is that I spent most of my summers on an island, I have no problem with fishing or crabbing, but I cannot eat the stuff. (The one tiny exception is my dad’s fried flounder, but even that in only very small amounts.) Otherwise, even the barest whiff makes me want to vomit. 2) I also detest vegetables. (And…

Blog Award the Second
Posted in award, random

In revenge for my bleeding sunshine upon him the other day, Adri has decided to return fire, and continued the nonsensical chain letter of blog awards by giving me this one. *ahem* So, to make this one work I need to tell six lies about myself and one truth. (And you guys get to figure them out.) And then I send this award out to seven other people. I may skip the sending out this time, mostly because I don’t want to be a major pain in the ass, (and I’m feeling lazy right now), but I will list my seven things. 1) I am a licensed bee keeper.2) I didn’t learn to drive until I was 22, except for my dad’s tractor.3) I once ate a polywog on a dare.4) I’ve broken nearly every bone in my body.5) I used to have a pet octopus.6) I once played Death…

More Hay, Trigger? No Thanks, Roy. I’m Stuffed…

I had my first set of trigger point injections today. They weren’t particularly pleasant, but they weren’t the worst things ever, either. Essentially the doctor just injected those terrible knots with a solution of lidocaine and cortisone, which numbs the muscle and also forces it to relax. After which I went to PT (my acupuncture center does both) and they manipulated the holy fuck out of them. I feel like a tenderized piece of meat…but the radiating pain is greatly reduced, so I’ll take that. In fact, I’m going to have to – I’ve got 5 more treatments in the next 2 weeks, on top of another MRI (with contrast this time) to determine if there’s scar tissue building up on the surgery site. My SI joint was completely out of alignment too (my right leg was longer than my left, whee). So pain doc reset that yesterday (yes, that’s…
