Word Whore Thursday

I’m over at Word Whores today – this week’s theme is dream homes or locations we’d like to live. I’m all about fairy tale cottages, so I’ve got some nice pictures over there. Apologies for yesterday’s lack of post – lots going on and I was just feeling a bit overwhelmed. Both kids sick, me sort of sick, mr myn’s old roomate passed away on Monday and I had 4 more nerves burned out in my spine. It makes for an ugly sort of day, to be honest.  And to top it off, the nerve burning ended up numbing a huge patch of skin on my back. It’s really funky feeling. (And on another note of Allison-is-a-bit-of-a-medical-freak, it turns out I seem to have some weird little vestigial floating ribs that don’t go anywhere. Like they’re only 2 or 3 inches long. Get Down With the Sickness

Or so they say. 4 days after Lucy finished up her meds for strep…she came down with it again. (And 2 weeks before her first round, Connor had it, so it’s just been antibiotic central here.) And then there’s me. Who spent several hours playing the multiplayer version of the ME3 demo on Friday night (until about 2 AM or so?) Managed to give myself such a terrible case of “mouse shoulder” that I ended up drugging myself into oblivion on Saturday. Couldn’t even turn my neck. That being said, it was hella fun. Though I should point out, I was playing with other women that I knew from various places in the Bioware fandom. So it was laid-back and helpful, even though this was my first time out. Scripting

Took a little break from blog posts last night. Might not have been the wisest thing, but honestly I was itching to do some scripting for Fox & Willow and I don’t like fighting the muse when she decides to kick in. And since Aimo and I check in a weekly basis to discuss the overall progress, I like to actually have something to show her. 🙂 I’m trying a slightly different mechanism for this chapter. First chapter is called “Came a Harper” and has a lot of setup going on, but because I was still getting my brain wrapped around the idea of scripting (and it’s nothing I’ve ever done before), I started out writing it more like a short story and then going back and highlighting the bits that would go into the comic portion.  (And a lot of that is at Aimo’s discretion anyway – we discuss… Read more
