Guess I forgot to blog here today – though I was over at Word Whores, talking about the movie Alien and why I dig it so much. (Though based on the lack of comments, perhaps no one agrees. Eh. S’okay.) Truthfully though, my fascination with the entire lore of those movies could probably earn me a doctorate. ) I also had a post over at Reading Between the Wines, with an additional excerpt that I haven’t released online before, so be sure to check that out too. And speaking of forgetting to blog, there’s probably a good chance I’m going to go on some sort of blog hiatus in the next few weeks. Maybe not completely, but I might not be blogging everyday, either. My revisions should be here tomorrow. Which is good, because this book has to be to the copy-editor by May 1, which means I’m only going…

Trying to keep my sanity today, but I’m out and about on the blog-o-sphere in several places: 1) The League of Reluctant Adults – Got a little post about Sad Sausage Dogs and how fanfic brought Aimo and I together. (Also, there’s a picture of Gideon from Fox & Willow that we haven’t released before, so check that out, if you like.) 2) I’m also over at Lisa’s World of Books talking a bit about fairy tales and what my biggest influences are as far as my writing research goes in the Abby Sinclair books. 3) Review/Giveaway/Character Profile post over at MotherGamerWriter – want to know a little more about Talivar? Sure you do. Go check it out. 🙂…

And these entries are the first 5 pages only, so for a time constraint that shouldn’t be too bad, though somehow I ended up with 8 of them…in the Contemporary Romance category.  Not that I tend to read contemporary anything for fun, but for contests it’s fine – good writing is good writing, no matter what genre it’s in. Each contest is different of course – usually judges are looking for the basic things like grammar and sentence structure, but then there’s often a series of specific items – Hooks, Voice, Plot. (Sometimes it’s *really* specific –…

You know that scene in Jurassic Park where they find the dinosaur eggs in the middle of the jungle and Ian is all like “Life finds a way?” That’s about how I feel like, right now – only more with my kids and the computer. And it’s not that I’ve ever tried to lock my kids away from technology – I haven’t. They’ve got access to the TV and an XBOX, computers, smart phones, whatever. However, note that I said “access.” They don’t actually own any of them. (My son does have a D/S, though we try to limit his playing to weekends only.) And the kids never expressed any real interest in messing with our PCs (they’ll watch me play Dragon Age or World of Warcraft forever, but until SW: TOR came out, my son was more interested in trying to find games dealing with Transformers than anything else.…
