Word Whore Thursday

Guess I forgot to blog here today – though I was over at Word Whores, talking about the movie Alien and why I dig it so much. (Though based on the lack of comments, perhaps no one agrees. Eh. S’okay.) Truthfully though, my fascination with the entire lore of those movies could probably earn me a doctorate. ) I also had a post over at Reading Between the Wines, with an additional excerpt that I haven’t released online before, so be sure to check that out too. And speaking of forgetting to blog, there’s probably a good chance I’m going to go on some sort of blog hiatus in the next few weeks. Maybe not completely, but I might not be blogging everyday, either. My revisions should be here tomorrow. Which is good, because this book has to be to the copy-editor by May 1, which means I’m only going…

Apologies for the lateness of this post. These painkillers are kicking my ass and the most I can do is just sort of smile in a stupor. And that was compounded today by a migraine and trying to write up cognizant guest blog posts for later on this week, so…yeah. Anyway, I was over at Word-Whores today talking about Celebrity crushes. And there’s a nice review of A Sliver of Shadow at Bitch Can Read a Book today as well – if you leave a comment you can win a copy, so be sure to stop over there. In the meantime, I’ve been watching all the political bullshit going on the last few days dealing with women and contraception and Virginia passing that ridiculous bill that requires women to get internal vaginal ultrasounds before an abortion – even if she doesn’t want to and Liz Trotta sounding off about how women…

Ideas and Things…

With the release day of A Sliver of Shadow not too far off in the future, I’ve been playing around with what to do for unique giveaways. (Aside from book copies and trading cards and the like). One of the things I was thinking about doing was giving away a custom commission by Aimo for a BoD or SoS sketchcard. Could be pretty much any scene from the books you wanted. (Within artist limitations, of course.) You can see a few others she’s done for me here if you want to get an idea of what I mean. So, guess I”m trying to see if people would be open to that idea, and what sorts of scenes/characters they’d want to see. (Anything with Ion, Abby, Mel or Phin is easy enough. If you’re wanting a different character, I’d actually be paying a little more for character design, but that’s okay…

Yeah, you know, it’s oddly catchy and I kinda can’t stop watching. (Though I’m not sure @phintheunicorn would completely approve, but that’s okay.) And in case you didn’t realize – yes that’s a spoof lipsynch job over a Michael Bublé video. (Original here.) On a few additional notes, I’m guest posting over at the League of Reluctant Adults today, talking a little bit about an upcoming project I’m looking to do. Also – All Things Urban Fantasy is taking nominations for best PNR/UF covers, so if you’re so inclined, head over that way to nominate A Brush of Darkness (or any of your favs, honestly.) 🙂…

Just a little note to say I’m over at Shiloh Walker’s website today talking a little about Fairy Tales. I’m also giving away a copy of either A Brush of Darkness or A Sliver of Shadow (reader’s choice), so stop on by and leave a comment. 🙂…
