Mystery Box for the Win

Remember the mystery package I sent to my editor a few days ago? Well, she got it today so I can finally show you what’s in it. (It’s her birthday this week, but seeing as I’ll be out of town, I figured I’d send her something a little early, just for being such an awesome editor.) And yes, I realize I am a big silly, but I really did have fun putting together the first prototype of: Phineas! Complete with Hello Kitty underwear on his head! And bacon! Or at least band-aids that look like strips of bacon. (I’m a little hedgey about sending actual food products to people. Dusty Memories

It’s been a crazy weekend so far. I’m trying to get my stuff together for Nationals (and of course the suitcase I bought won’t actually get here until Monday…nothing like packing last minute, eh?) I’m trying to start sorting through my copy edits. I’m trying to rewrite the beginning of Book 2 to fit the way I ended Book 1. And, I’m trying to clean. Like really, really. I had a huge shit-fit about it last weekend (before off-roading), because as much of a slob as I am, even I have limits. And I have reached them. At any rate, I’m hitting as much of it as I can before I go – there’s a lot of removal going on. Piles of clothes and toys and books for donation…just stuff, I guess. Steampunk Hat Awesomesauce

My hat came in! No, I’m not actually wearing it in the office (think I’d need to pin my hair up to get the comb to stay in), but oh my goodness, is this hat brilliantly done. So, my hat is off to Gypsy Lady Hats and their awesome Etsy store. (pun intended) They really came through for me – we had a little bit of communication issue with some lost emails, but they made good on it and got me the hat on time. It’s made of canvas, with leather thingys at the top and bottom and then a satin ribbon around the base.
