Convention Mini Recap

Yay for first panel pics!  (Actually this was my second panel of the day, but it’s the only one I have pictures from, so it will have to do.) This panel was on Odd Paranormals – and was actually a lot of fun. Lots of Phineas discussion, since he’s probably the oddest thing to come out of the Brush of Darkness universe. (Amusingly, PBS was there and filming a number of the panels. Including this one. It’s entirely possible I’ll be on TV in the next few months discussion unicorn peen. Or not. I had to sign a waiver, but I don’t actually know what/how much they’re going to use.) Overall, though, the panels were a blast and  I’m very grateful that I had the opportunity to be on them. 🙂 (Incidentally, Monica Burns is awesome, and pimped my book out like mad. Huzzah!) W00t

I won 3rd prize in the SteamPunk Costume party at the Gathering last night. (Which was a screaming hoot, btw – best Gathering I’ve ever been to – everything just came together so, so wonderfully.) The bad news? I forgot my damn camera. However – there were about 100 people there and tons of them were taking pictures, so I’m doing my best now to round up the people I know were there to get some pics. Sorry! 🙁 Also – had a wonderful time hanging out at Downtown Disney yesterday with Carrie and Renee (fellow DG fan girls!) – it was brilliant to finally meet them face to face. 🙂… Read more

Steampunk Hat Awesomesauce

My hat came in! No, I’m not actually wearing it in the office (think I’d need to pin my hair up to get the comb to stay in), but oh my goodness, is this hat brilliantly done. So, my hat is off to Gypsy Lady Hats and their awesome Etsy store. (pun intended) They really came through for me – we had a little bit of communication issue with some lost emails, but they made good on it and got me the hat on time. It’s made of canvas, with leather thingys at the top and bottom and then a satin ribbon around the base. And here is the back. 🙂 Seriously, I cannot *wait* to get my Steampunk on next Friday night.… Read more

Thanks to Darchala for sending me this awesome SteamPunk necklace that she made! The picture doesn’t really do it justice, but the bee is actually very intricate, and there are these nice little clockwork cogs in the chain. I’m going to wear it as part of my SteamPunk costume for the FF&P Gatheriing (and probably next year’s RT faery or vampire ball.)… Read more
