Magpie’s Song: Happy Release Day!

Posted in blog | Tagged , , , , | Leave a comment
It’s here! So excited to finally have Magpie’s Song out and in the wild! I’m still out and about in Moab (which if you follow me on social media at all, you probably know quite well as I’ve been uploading a fair amount of pictures/video of some of the off-roading stuff.) Internet is still rather sparse, and today I’ll be hiking around somewhere so if I don’t respond to emails or tweets or whatnot in a timely fashion it’s because the signal is so bad – but I will as soon as I can!) In the meantime, LilyElement is doing a giveaway on her blog, so if you’d like a chance to win a copy of Magpie’s Song, head on over that way and take a chance. If you’ve already read it/plan on reading it, I’m just going to ask that you take a few moments and throw up a… Read more

Out of Tune II Anthology Release Day

Come away, O human child! To the waters and the wild With a faery, hand in hand, For the world’s more full of weeping than you can understand. A few months ago I had the pleasure of seeing Loreena McKennitt in concert over at The Birchmere. (It’s  a lovely musical hole-in-the-wall, but there are always great acts and I adore going to concerts there as it is a very small and intimate venue – there isn’t a bad seat in the whole place and in this case I was about…oh maybe two feet from where Loreena was performing on the piano (or harp, depending on the song.) I’ve been a fan of Loreena’s since, I don’t know…college. Around 1994, I guess. Which makes me old. But still – her music has had a rather profound effect on my life, and seeing her live was really rather indescribable. But anyway, the… Read more

Friday Silliness: Beware the Unicorn Graffiti

Okay, I don’t know what possessed the makers of this ingenious little script, but if you haven’t tried it, go run over to Goggles.  Basically, you drag this little button into your bookmark bar and you click it on any site you want. And then you can draw all over that person’s website. But the genius of it is that other people can only see it *if* they go to that site and also hit their  Goggles button. Lame? Maybe. Also fabulous! I sorta feel like unleashing my inner Phineas and marking up my friends’ webpages with rainbows and cocks. Maybe rainbow cocks. Yes, there’s a potential for abuse here since it’s all anonymous (and sure, it’s tempting to find your super-sekret enemy’s webpage and just write rude things on it that they’ll most likely never see), but still. Anyway, I also wanted to give a shout out to Jeffe… Read more

Happy Release Day…to Me! :)

Posted in blog | Tagged , , , , , , , | 2 Comments
Okay – I’m all over the place today – guest posts and giveaways and all that fun stuff. I’ll be updating the links in this post as things come up, but I wanted to give a massive shout out to all my fabulous friends and family (and fans!) who have been tweeting and Facebooking and everything else today. You guys are how books get sold and the reason I write and I can’t thank you all enough. (And major props go to Aimo for the awesomesauce gif up there. A complete surprise and so brilliant. I just can’t stop laughing at it.) Also – I have this lovely piece of art from Jakface – Hipster Talivar doing the Hustle. Because that’s what he does. Sometimes. (And you can read that particular scene over at Wicked Little Pixie today!) Okay, links and places…. 1) I’ve got a release day part over… Read more

Happy Release Day!

Posted in blog | Tagged | Leave a comment
I’m giving a shout out today to two fabulous people and their new releases today. Congratulations to my fellow Word Whore, Marcella Burnard for her second book, Enemy Games! Incidentally, if you want to see what books really do in their spare time, trot over to Jeffe Kennedy’s blog for an in depth look. Enemy Games is quite the sophisticated traveler, apparently. 🙂 Congratulations also goes out to my fellow Leaguer (somehow League of Reluctant Adulterer doesn’t have quite the vibe I’m looking for….) Kevin Hearne for his debut of the Iron Druid Chronicles. The first book is Hounded. (It’s got fab reviews so far, so I expect terrific things from it.)… Read more
