Awesome Con DC update

Posted in blog | Tagged , , , , | 1 Comment
Just a quick note to mention that the panel at AwesomeCon is now official. 🙂 Here’s the scoop: April 21, 12 PM: Room 102A – Writing Fantasy: Novels and Comics In publishing today, fantasy is a crowded field that encompasses the supernatural and paranormal, high fantasy and more science fiction-ish elements such as time travel and alternate realities. Join novelists and comics writers to learn what both publishers and fans expect from writers today. Justic Jordan, Allison Pang, Diana Peterfreund, Meagan Spooner and Alma Katsu. There will be a signing after that (tho I’m not sure if it’s in the same room yet or if it will be somewhere else.) I won’t be selling any books, but I may give a few copies away. Should be a good time, so come on down and join us! In other news, I should have a few Carniepunk ARCs in my hands next… Read more

AwesomeCon

Just a quick post to mention that it looks like I’m probably going to be attending AwesomeCon on April 20-21. It’s a smaller con from what I can gather, so I’m not sure what to expect, but small cons can be more fun than the larger ones in some ways. (I was NOT fond of being stepped on at NYCC last year – definitely a crazy time!) It looks pretty inexpensive, so if you’re in the area think about stopping by!  (I’ll post more details about the panel once I know them, but I think it will probably be early afternoon on Saturday.) Hope to see you there!… Read more

Fun With Phineas

Today’s blog tour post is all about Phineas. I get a lot of questions about the little ass, so I figured I’d so a character sheet for him. Check it out over at The Book Nympho to find out more about your favorite unicorn. (There’s a review over there too.) In the meantime, someone was nice enough to record my panel at NYCC. It’s up over at youtube, but I’ll just embed it down below.  I haven’t watched it and I probably won’t just because I have a very difficult time watching myself on camera, but hopefully the rest of you will find it amusing. 🙂   Thanks to the lovely person who recorded it! Also, just as a fun note, last Friday night after my comic con shenanigans, I got a chance to meet up with Marcus Wolf (Marcus is David Garrett’s guitarist and was super helpful when  I asked… Read more

Con Aftermath

Posted in blog | Tagged , , , , , , , | 1 Comment
Clearly I didn’t post much the last few days – not even twitter or tumblr. Part of that was just time (and lousy signal)…and also just being so tired I couldn’t make the effort. (No, I don’t know who photobombed Gandalf there, but I gave up trying to get pictures without people. And lego people rock.) Not that the con wasn’t fun – it was, but I think it was a tad too crowded for my tastes overall. (And right now I’m pretty grumpy – lack of sleep and just plain travel fatigue will do that to a person.) Most of my pictures came out blurry (of course) so I don’t actually have much to show, but as far as recaps go: Thursday afternoon, I got in late in the afternoon, met with my agent and toured the agency office and then headed down to the Javits center with Emma… Read more
