I’ve been sitting here staring at this blank blog page off and on for the last few hours. Part of that is because I’m at work. Part of that is because my back has decided to go stupid the last few days and I’m hurting. Part of that is because I was up until 3 AM playing Civ V. (One day I’ll learn, I promise. But until then? I’m gonna build me another granary, yo.) But in either case, some days I really have a hard time coming up with anything interesting to talk about. Every once in a while I jump on the “popular topic of the moment” – but usually I find I have very little to add to the discussion that hasn’t already been said a million times by others anyway. (Or I’m just so sick of hearing about said topic that I don’t really want to…

Word Whore ~ Fox and Willow Thursday
Today started out with an utterly fabulous fuck-up on my part. Namely, I attempted to update a plug-in on the Sad Sausage Dogs website (you know – you just click “Update” and you’re done, right? Sure. Unless the update is apparently some sort of massive overhaul that completely changed the database structure and destroys your entire website.) Yeah. I screamed. A bit. (Actually, it was more of a muffled, “Oh, fuck me,” since I was in the office and that sort of thing is generally frowned upon. Anyway – turns out it there *was* a warning about the drastic nature of this upgrade, but I didn’t see it due to the way I way I went about it in WordPress. But after running over to the plug-in website and seeing that the changes are irreversible and not to do the update unless you were sure about it and had a back…

A Trace of Moonlight Trading Cards & Excerpt!
So we’re finally heading into the final stretch before A Trace of Moonlight is released, so you guys know the drill. The book tour will be starting up in a few weeks and there will be giveaways and a live chat on release date…and here’s the latest set of trading cards by Darchala! We’ve got Charlie, Kitsune, Sonja and Robert in this batch (not counting the TartBarbie extra which I’m still deciding on.) I’ll be sending these off for printing soon – chances are I won’t have them in time for NYCC, but I will have them at WFC at the end of the month, so if you’re interested in a batch, let me know. 🙂 Otherwise, yes, the first chapter of A Trace of Moonlight is now officially up, so go tease yourself with that (though don’t expect any real answers to be forthcoming. I’m mean like that. It’s…

Propositions
I turned in a book proposal today. (To my agent, anyway – if all is well, it will go off to the editor at some point this week and then we’ll see what’s what.) I’m not getting into the specifics of the proposal yet because it’s one of those things. If I talk about it, maybe it gets jinxed. (And I’m not fond of backtracking and having to say, “Sorry, guys.”) Or hell, maybe it doesn’t get jinxed, but things just don’t work out the way I hoped. Or maybe it’s all perfect and I’ll get to make a different sort of announcement in a few months. Here’s hoping, anyway. But it’s amazing what a relief it is to turn it in. I can start looking at some other projects while knowing I have something in the pipeline – as I’ve said before, an author is usually only as good…
