Lego My Legolas
So Lego apparently released a big round of Lord of the Rings Lego sets…and I sorta bought them. All of them. Partially for nostalgia reasons – I grew up with Legos , but when I was a kid they were mostly marketed to boys, and they certainly weren’t quite as slick as they are today. (I seem to remember they had space Legos, and Lego City stuff…and maybe some castle stuff, and that was about it for a while. Now tho? It’s all tied in to current pop culture and they really make an effort to tie things in.) I like putting them together – for some reason I find it a great way to blow off stress, but I also get the added family bonus because Connor and I can work on them together. I let him put some of the smaller sets together by himself – he did Shelob,…

Word Whore ~ Fox & Willow Thursday
I’m at the usual places today – Word-Whores is a little post about vacations and the beach and summer stuff. (And speaking of which what is with this weather this week? All over 100 degrees and just so humid and gross.) Otherwise, I’m plugging away on various projects (and finally getting some news and details and hopefully I’ll be able to nail down some specifics that I can share in a bit.) And, of course, the latest Fox & Willow is up today – perfect picture is perfect, btw. It may not be a completely adult comic, but definitely expect a bit of boot-knocking and the occasional flash of skin in this series. Also? Gideon is such a delightful ass in this form…as a good Fox Spirit should be.…

Rambly
A bit of a late night post tonight. Things got a little nutty today at work and I couldn’t sneak in a post during lunch like I usually do. Happens sometimes – and technically I’m cutting into some of my writing time tonight to post. There isn’t even any real reason for it – I just feel like rambling a bit – and also? The origami book dragon there is totally awesome. 😀 But honestly I’ve been feeling a bit overwhelmed the last few days (and massively crankypants). Just a lot going on in author land. It’s not always about writing, you know? I’ve got some cons coming up so now there’s a bit of a scramble as to what new swag I want to order and plane tickets to get and people to contact about getting on panels or workshops or whatever. Do I want to place an ad…

Clam Happy
Today is one of those days where I really, really wish I had like three or four more of me to get everything done that needs doing. And that’s about all I’m going to say. Otherwise it’s going to get all whiny and that’s no good. …

Writer Brain
I did the family thing yesterday instead of writing. Which always makes me feel incredibly guilty. I’ve been struggling a bit with the writing-as-second-career vs life balance thing for a while now. It seems as though I have less and less time to write, but I think maybe I’m just procrastinating more. I was feeling a bit burned out after I finished the Trace of Moonlight draft a few months ago, so I fully admit to taking a month off from writing afterward (though I was doing all those blog tour posts. I just didn’t have any more words in me for a while.) And then I started working on this new book. And it’s taken me a while mentally to get into it. Part of that was Abby’s voice sounded so strong in my head that I had a hard time making it NOT sound like her. (I think…
