Knowing the Limits

One of the things I’ve been doing recently is working through a pain management journal. Even though I know there’s an actual physical reason for a good deal of my pain issues, I do think there’s a mental component mixed in with it. The journal has been helping me work through some of that – it’s become clear to me that I’m carrying a great deal of anger. About a lot of things, I guess. I’m not going to unload them here because it will probably bore the pants off of most people – plus as much I tend to share everything, some stuff does need to remain sacred…at least until I understand it better. Back to the Grind

The problem with going on vacations is that they end. For what it’s worth, we had a fabulous few days – I barely touched my laptop and I kept my online interactions to a minimum. Not that I don’t like sharing all my fun, but I’m online too much as it is and I didn’t want any distractions,  so there you go.  Most nights I tottered into bed around 11 or 11:30 and slept in until 8 or 9, so it was definitely a healthier sleep schedule than what I normally get. The offshoot of having all that fun is that I’m not sure I’m all that much more rested physically (thanks to the stupid back – and yes, I kept my roller coasters down to a minimum – only did 3 the whole trip) – but mentally I’m itching to get back to my creative endeavors – lots of inspiration… Read more

Off to See the Wizard. And the Mermaid. And the Mouse.

So I’m off for a few days of glorious family vacation at Disney World (with a side trip to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, yo.)  At the moment I’m finishing up the last of my packing and all those little things that need doing. Getting ready to go on vacation is sort of exhausting in its own way,  but hopefully the payoff will be good. I try to go dark on these occasions  so obviously I won’t be blogging much. (Though I’ve already written Thursday’s Word Whores post – this week is all about the seven deadly writer sins. Tough Love

      I’m sitting on the floor of what I’m beginning to consider my room. It’s a dangerous thought to have because Moon Children don’t own anything. And yet, here I am, hunched over a book and pretending the squiggles are supposed to make sense. The doctor’s clothes hang off my frame loosely; I’m like a scarecrow from that children’s story, wishing for brains.             The scarecrows here live under the city and dine on flesh, but it doesn’t make them any smarter. “Mags?”             Dr. Barrows raps me gently on the head to bring me back from my woolgathering. It’s on the tip of my tongue to mention the scarecrows, but I decide the joke will fall flat. Moon Child humor is not for the faint of heart.             “This is useless. Word Whore ~ Fox and Willow Thursday

I’ve been slacking off on the daily blogging again, for which I apologize – but it’s just been about lack of time more than anything else. Writing is happening, projects are moving along – I’ll be scarce next week since I’m heading out of town for a little family vacation and I tend to like to unplug as completely as I can for stuff like that.  Plus, hey – it’s Disney World and Harry Potter – and I need all my attention on that. 😀 In the meantime, today has it’s usual F&W update, so check that out.
