Word Whores: Guilty Pleasures

Posted in blog | Tagged , , | Leave a comment
I’m over at Word Whores today talking about my own guilty pleasure (computer gaming, of course.). Stop on by if you enjoy a little tank and spank of your own. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Otherwise, due to snow issues, I lost power last night from about 6 PM to 4:30 AM this morning, so I missed the craft chat over at Savvy. Hopefully we can get that rescheduled soon, so many apologies there. Almost tried to get out to the local B&N to steal their wireless, but the roads were pretty bad and quite frankly I’d be surprised if any of the stores stayed open past nine anyway. So, there we go. I’m also over at Night Owl Romance today, talking a little bit about animal sidekicks. Check it out for a chance to win a copy of A Brush of Darkness. ๐Ÿ™‚… Read more

The Day After…

Posted in blog | Tagged , , | 2 Comments
*sighs* It’s sort of anticlimactic today. After all that massive amount of build-up and crazy tweeting and online chatting and giving away of iPods….today just seems so…normal. Almost. I did stop by the local B&N yesterday and beamed at the three copies of A Brush of Darkness that were sitting on the shelf. Dan took a picture of me there. I doubt any of you will ever see it, because instead of smiling, I have this sort of strained grimace thing going on. In years to come, people will wonder if I was stoned, or drunk. Possibly both. Definitely tired. Anyway, just a few things on tap for today – I have a guest post over atย Book Chick City and I’m doing a live chat tonight over at Savvy Authors at 9 PM (EST). I’ll be talking a bit about the differences in UF and Paranormal Romance and some of… Read more

Posted in blog | Tagged , , , | 6 Comments
Well, I’ve been up for well over 24 hours at this point and unable to sleep from all the excitement, but I just wanted to pop on and thank everyone so, so much for all the fabulous shout outs today/last night. (And, OMG, the tweets! The tweeting has been insane!) And flowers from Danielle! (And silly pictures of unicorns in underwear and hedgehogs!) Also very, very cool? The League of Reluctant Adults very own Mark Henry has just awarded me with the very first League of Reluctant Adults Snark Certification. @Phintheunicorn is *so* proud. ๐Ÿ˜€ And the iPod Touch giveaway is about to go live in about 30 minutes, so I hope to see you all there soon! (Bring questions!) The link isn’t up yet, but I’ll update here as soon as I have it. Otherwise just check on Bitten by Books. Update -> Here’s the actual link to enter… Read more

Listening to the Inner Storyteller

Posted in blog | Tagged , , , | Leave a comment
No reason for this picture except I thought it was really cute. (I should try to repeat it with Lucy and Tumbleweed, perhaps. I like how they look like they’re about to strike up a conversation a la Alice in Wonderland.) And speaking of Lucy, the girl is apparently a born storyteller. Although she can’t read quite yet, she has absolutely no problem with opening a book and making things up to go with the pictures. The fun part is that it takes her less than two seconds to process whatever she sees and come up with a story for it…and the story actually makes sense even as she goes page by page. And by make sense, I mean that it holds a sense of continuity, not that her four-year-old logic is flawless. Last time it was apparently about the Saggy, Baggy Elephant. Who has a lot of friends and… Read more
