Mini Recap

Airport delays suck. And yet, 3 hours later, here I sit. I was supposed to get into Philly at 10:40 tonight, but now we’re looking at 1 AM. So, guess I’ll blog about Vegas. Running commentary to follow: Day 1: Up for 23 hours straight. Got up at 4:45 AM to get to the airport – got to Vegas at 9:00 (Vegas time). Hit the tables, ate breakfast, took a shower, sorta tried to nap, ate a massive lunch at Maggiano’s, went shopping, went to see Wayne Brady at 9 PM, met AK and Dan at 11 PM, sat at the bar until midnight, went to bed a 1 AM. (Vegas time. Philly time was 3 AM, so yeah – about 23 hours. Idiot.) Day 2: Huge breakfast at the buffet. Went to see the Bodies exhibit at the Luxor. Thunder from Where?

On a lark, AK and I decided to head down to Excalibur and see the 11 pm showing of the “Thunder from Down Under”. (We got back about 4 hours ago…*cough*. Why yes, it *is* 5 am, why do you ask?) I’ll write up a longer review later, but for now, I leave you with this lovely video of one of the dancers whom I’ve dubbed “Stripper Cindar.” Right now, we’re headed for a helicopter and a sunrise tour of the Grand Canyon. …And just so you all know, he’s *way* hotter in person. 😉… Read more

Yes, it’s true. It’s also true I’m in Las Vegas right now and I should have something far wittier to talk about. But I don’t. I’m horribly stuffed full of pound cake and pasta, so I’m not sure I can coherently string two thoughts together. Perhaps tomorrow. In the meantime, here’s the song of the moment. Who Needs Feathers?

Not that I usually post my images here on the blog – I don’t. But normally when I render images they’re based on characters – mine or someone else’s. In doing this one, (in between cursing Poser 8 to the lowest levels of hell), I think I’ve come up with a story based on the image. Or at least, I’ve got a couple of characters in the works now, based off the pictures. New for me. But kind of fun. Full picture here –> Who Needs Feathers? Think I’m gonna need a name. Small Writings

In between all the other things I’ve been doing lately, I finally gave in and started writing a short story. (Very short – probably less than 3000 words). Not sure if it’s going to go anywhere, and I’m feeling rather shy about it, honestly. I wouldn’t call it a secret story, but it’s definitely a subject that’s always meant a great deal to me. And yes, I’m going to be cryptic and not say what it is just yet. Sounds silly and superstitious, but sometimes it feels like if I say too much too soon, the magic kind of dies away and I no longer feel the urge to finish. It’s been good, though. Very low pressure – and after the last several weeks of writing queries and submission letters, it’s nice to just do something *fun*.
