Happy Birthday to Me…

‘Nuff said. Truthfully, I’ve been more of a Vampire Bill fan on the show. I felt like I was suppose to dig Eric, but I just couldn’t get into him. Maybe it was the long hair from the first season, but hellloooo hotness! Last episode had him crying blood for his maker, Godric. I’m a sucker for watching the hard guys break down. Hooked! And on an awesome note, Tru Blood is now a real drink! –> https://www.trubeverage.com/… Read more

Finally! A Final!

Posted in contest, final | 3 Comments
Wonder of all wonders, I got the call yesterday. Actually, mr myn got it, but he was quick to let me know. But yes, I’m one of four finalists in the Golden Opportunity Contest. And in fact, I’m number 2 out of 40 entries, with a nice average score of 197 out of 200 points. Thankfully, they’re giving us the opportunity to edit/modify our entries before they get sent to the judging editor – I’ve got a few spacing issues I need to correct, and I’d made a few small changes to that first chapter after I’d sent it into the contest. So w00t for me! Cross your fingers for me, eh?… Read more

Honorable Mention

Posted in contests | Leave a comment
Well, I still haven’t quite managed to final in the writing contest world(though I seem to be getting awfully close – I was off by two slots for one of them – and I *have* made it to the second round for the Mollys, but haven’t heard about the next round yet.) Shadow of the Incubus *did* get an Honorable Mention for the New Jersey “Put Your Heart in Book” contest. Not quite a final, but I emailed them to ask what it meant and I guess everyone who got an average of 130 or better (out of 145) gets that. Looks like there were about 7 or 8 of us who did. I haven’t gotten the scores back yet, so I don’t know where I fall. Guess I’ll keep plugging away. 🙂 I’ve got a few additional ones I’ll try for and by then the next book’s starting manuscript… Read more

Time to Say Goodbye

…And in case you’ve never actually seen the fountain show, here you go. 🙂 (Music and water acrobatics change every time, so you never see the same thing twice). For myself, I am waiting for them to set it to “Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy”. (Damn you, Stripper Cin! Damn you and your smexy cowboy routine!) Note: My little digital camera isn’t the best, so this isn’t anything remotely professional looking. (Also note – this is like 430 megs…so try to buffer it the first time you go to watch).… Read more
