OMG! I cannot tell you how long I’ve waited to try and get this cel and now it’s MINE!!! So pretty and such an awesome scene. And it’s an A1 End (with the original background). And douga. *sigh* God damn, I miss having money to burn. And wow, do I need to break out that scanner and start updating my rubberslug page. Three years??? Sheesh.…

https://abcnews.go.com/2020/story?id=8261425&page=1 Nice to see this medical issue getting some more attention. I’ve been to Dr. Goldstein’s center (but I saw his partner instead). They weren’t able to fix me, but they were able to help somewhat. I think they’re definitely onto something about the birth control pills – my symptoms onset fairly shortly after I first started taking them, and they’ve never gone away since. If I can manage to cough up some balls**, I’ll probably end up getting the surgery… ** And yes. I realize that if I actually *could* cough up some balls, I probably wouldn’t have this issue at all. The mind boggles.…

Judging

So a few weeks ago, I got suckered asked to help judge a few contest entries for a popular online writing group. In truth, I owed the requester a favor, so I signed on. And now I see why it’s such a subjective thing. If I’m stressed out, or tired, or someone cut me off in traffic, then it’s quite possible I’m not giving the writer my full attention. It doesn’t seem fair, but there it is. (And I suspect this probably is the case with agents and editors as well. Given the sheer numbers in their slush piles, an entry had damn well sparkle if it’s going to go anywhere.) Still. The score sheets kind of bug me. We…

No, no…nearly…but NO.

*chucks book against the wall* To protect the innocent, I’m not going to mention the title of the book I’m currently pissy about. Or the author. Both are popular and I’m not actually interested in bashing. (Or maybe I’m chickenshit. Probably both.) Point being, I’ve wasted several hours of my time reading something that everyone raves about. I want my money back. In fairness, the writing was fine. In fact, the whole thing was a fairly fast read to start. Did I buy the premise? Eh. Not so much, but I could overlook it in the effort to find an actual plot. And it was a typical romance set up. Big, bad-ass hero. Dresses in leather. He’s a bazillion years old. Never known love. Driven by self-loathing. Hangs out with a bunch of other big, bad-asses who are side-characters atm, but are bound to be the stars of their own…
