Yeah. I’ve been a very bad blogger this week. Mea culpa. I’ve also had like no sleep and my eating schedule is completely gorked up. I’m not even going to start with what the hell has happened with my back the last few days. *ahem* I did want to shout out that my fellow Word Whore Marcella Burnard won a RT Reviewers Choice award yesterday, so massive kudos to that. However, I did want to give a shoutout to my old childhood friend who picked me up from the hotel yesterday and got me into the back stage lot of Paramount for a while. Very cool. I’ll blog more about him next week. Also, thanks to all my Leaguers for showing me the ropes and making me laugh my ass off. 🙂 I’ve got the vampire ball tonight and the book signing tomorrow and then after that? I have no… Read more
Okay – no strippers yet, but obviously I didn’t post yesterday, mainly because I was on a plane for most of it. By the time I got to LAX last night it was 8PM in LA time…but 11 PM by my clock. And I was starving. And I met some friends at the bar. So I didn’t go to bed until 1 AM, LA time. Yes, that means I went to bed until about 4 AM, my time. Confused yet? I am. >_< I’m also really, really tired. LOL Pictures and updates to follow as I can make them. For now, I’m off to snag breakfast and find something to get in to. 😀… Read more
So. Yeah. I hate packing. *Hate* it. I know I’m going to forget something and as soon as I remember one thing, I drop whatever I’m doing and run off to find it…and then I forget whatever I was originally doing in the first place. Tonight, however, I cannot find my sock. Not just any sock. My thigh high black and white striped sock to wear with my vampire/steampunk/I don’t have anything else to wear that night costume. Found one. In my closet from where I left it when I unpacked from RWA over the summer. But the second one? Might as well be in on safari or something for all the luck I’ve had. I’m taking a little break right now, but I imagine I’ll be back up there in a few and ripping apart the closet for a *third* time tonight. Good news? I found my domo kun… Read more
I just wanted to give a big shout out to all my fellow friends and writers who are attending the RT convention in Ohio this week. Unfortunately, it just wasn’t in the cards for me this year (although, given where I’m at with the book and the revisions, that’s probably a very good thing. Nothing like having a massive deadline hanging over your head to remove any enjoyment from an event.) But seeing all the Tweets and the Facebook updates really brings back the memories for me. It’s amazing to me to think about last year – RT was my first “real” author event – and I had no idea wtf I was doing. But I met a ton of great people, pitched to my first agents, got to ogle the man candy and danced my ass off every night. And somewhere along the way, I think a mental trigger… Read more
And I’m back. Interesting day overall yesterday. Didn’t go to the Mr. Romance contest. It was actually more fun to sit at the pool bar in the lovely sunshine and edit. And really, between Smart Bitches and Heather Osborn twitting the whole thing every 30 seconds (including pics), it was way better than being there. Snark has *no* better mistresses. I did go to the Author Book Sign/Fair thing and met quite a few people. I did *not* meet Piers Anthony – I seem to have missed him, but roomie said he was a bit of a grumper, so maybe that’s ok. Did see Angela Knight, but skipped her too – I’ve been a bit let down by her attitude since I took a KoD workshop with her. Maybe it’s just me. Met Barry Eisler and chatted with him for a while. He seemed rather bemused to learn that he’d… Read more
