The Moon That Has No Mistress
Apparently I’ve been in a closet the last few months (editing, ha), but it has come to my attention that The Last Unicorn is being released in graphic novel form! Seeing as it’s one of the most brilliant books ever written, I’m super excited. They are coming out as a set of 6 comics, which you can order from IDW. Or, if you’re an obsessive fan of the book, you can subscribe to the series from Conlan Press (and get them signed by Peter S. Beagle too!) I will go back to my forest too, but I do not know if I will live contentedly there, or anywhere. I have been mortal, and some part of me is mortal yet. I am full of tears and hunger and the fear of death, though I cannot weep, and I want nothing, and I cannot die. I am not like the others…

Using What You Have aka Making Do
Connor made me take a picture of this yesterday. And I did – not only because it seemed like a good blog topic, but also because I giggle madly every time I look at it. Never mind it’s not even *his* Transformer. Never mind that said Transformer’s head is probably somewhere in the off-roading bowels of the mud in some distant field. Point is, said Transformer needed a head, so lego man got an upgrade. I find it very interesting that kid will usually make do with something, even if it’s not exactly right or perfect. In the interest of saving the universe, of course. Writers often do this too. Or at least I do. I’m not a huge researcher. Unless the plot hinges around a particular detail that *really* has be accurate *right* this second, I have a big tendency just to toss something in as a place holder.…

Tarot for Ideas

My ShadowScapes tarot cards came in today – and they are just beyond gorgeous. My only complaint is that the cards are on the smaller side so it’s hard to see all those tiny little details. But make no mistake, the artist really put her heart and soul into this deck and every little bit of it shows. I’m taking a new Tarot workshop in a few weeks, although I may have to be content with just being a lurker this time around. I did run out to Michael’s today to get a new sketchpad though, since it was suggested for the class. I also picked up some new color pencils – although I ended up buying them from Amazon, since Michael’s overpriced them by over $100. I don’t mind paying a little extra to pick something up right there, but not *that* much. Either way, I can’t wait to…
