TMI Argh

The problem with having a chronic illness go into remission is that you have a tendency to forget what it’s like when it’s here. I’m assuming that’s a defense mechanism of the body – which sort of makes sense. I think I read somewhere that the body cannot actually remember pain. I mean, you can remember feeling it, but when you remember it, your body doesn’t flare up where you stubbed your toe. (And things like Phantom pain aren’t really in the same category.) Anyway, I’ve started the beginnings of an IC flareup. Noticed something was off the other night. I wouldn’t call it a bladder spasm, exactly, but I knew when I hit the bathroom before going to bed that something wasn’t right. I have a tendency to try to pretend it’s not happening – and maybe that works for a day or so (and sometimes I’m lucky and…

Screaming Monkeys and Luggage Condoms

Yesterday was Father’s Day, obviously – most of which I spent over at the in-laws. Mr myn’s dad is in the more advanced stages of Parkinson’s, so it’s a rather bittersweet sort of holiday. In fact, I’m feeling rather private about it, so I’m not going to say much more than we had dim sum and the kids all played in the pool and we enjoyed the day as best we could. For my own little family celebration, we kept it pretty low key. Mr myn and I have gotten to the point where we don’t spend a huge amount of money on these sorts of holidays. I decided to be a bit more tongue-in-cheek this time around and made a number of small purchases to contribute to his Zombie Apocalypse Kit. (Yes, he sort of has one. No, it’s not for zombies. But I call it that anyway since…

There Can Be No Heaven Without Hell…

…but the local restaurant no longer makes their version of Heaven-and-Hell Cake. I was gravely disappointed, but somehow I managed to suffer through with a slice of this calorie-laden monstrosity. There is peanut butter mixed in with all that chocolate, btw. Just sayin’. No, I did not finish. But I did take it home. Or, to the point – mr myn took it home when I went back to work. Whether it will be available for breakfast tomorrow is anyone’s guess. In the meantime, should you wish to attempt to make your own version of the H&H cake, you can find the original recipe here.…

Rambly and Random Updates

Well, there it is, in all it’s glory. Or something like that. 😉 Anyway, that’s the “official” author pic that’s going in the back of the book (and probably all over everything else. LOL). Poor photographer took over 70 shots, but like I noted before, I really kind of hate getting my picture taken. I certainly can’t vamp without looking like I’m totally stoned, anyway – so I gave up on the “mysterious, smexy author” photos, but I also didn’t want the “goofy, why-is-she-smiling-like-that-is-my-fly-open?” sort of look either. So…best of both worlds, maybe? At least I can look at it without blushing or cringing, so that is a very good sign. Ah, and since people were asking about what color my corset is going to be, here’s a sample of the cloth –> Sort of blue and striped – the only bummer is that I was hoping for a black…
