Of course the problem with ranting on blog posts is that I so rarely have anything to follow it up with the next day. Not that yesterday was all that much of a rant, really. Grumpy observation, maybe? Tack that on to medical insurance issues (yeah, I’m loving that letter from the new insurance company telling me I must have Fibromyalgia and what they can do to help me. Um, hello? That’s one thing I *don’t* have, wonder of wonders.) I’m dying to find out how they managed to “diagnose” me from afar without any sort of proof. On the other hand, they’ve stopped paying for my chiropractic treatments. Because I should be fixed by now. If I’m not, I obviously have some sort of chronic issue and I’m not doing enough to take care of it. *headbash* Keep in mind I’m getting another round of Platelet Rich Plasma/Prolotherapy tomorrow.…

Mixing It Up
Read an interesting post today by Kim Harrison over SF Signal, mostly lamenting the fact that there is too much romance in UF these days. Maybe there is and maybe there isn’t. The funny thing to me is that for the longest time, I was completely unaware of the PNR genre as a whole. Growing up I was strictly hard-core fantasy/sci-fi. It’s still where I gravitate to the most. I was aware of UF, but I guess it was more of the old-school sort of UF – Charles de Lint, for example, or Tanya Huff. It was well before the vampire craze took over, anyway. (And to be honest, except for some early LKH, I didn’t read too many vampire/PNR books at all. Just wasn’t my thing, I guess.) I can admit to being a tad sensitive to the whole PNR vs UF debate. For one, women writers in particular…

Going Offline

Just a little note to mention that I’m going offline (at least blogging/twitter/facebook wise) for the upcoming holiday weekend. If I remember to do it, I’ll throw up some man candy tomorrow, but in the interest of working on my revisions *and* getting to enjoy some free time with the family, it’s probably for the best if I have less interweb distractions for a few days. *waves* Have a good weekend, y’all.…

Word Whore Thursday: Fangirl Fetish
I actually swapped places with my post so that it went up yesterday, but figured I’d talk about it on my normal day anyway. (What else will I have to talk about?? >_<) It ended up going a bit on the late side due to issues with blogger. The theme this week is about fetishes, and it would seem like the obvious out would be to talk about sexual fetishes, but oddly enough, none of us have so far. Well, I talk a little bit about slash, so maybe that counts, but you know what I mean. At any rate, on a semi-related note, I went and started a tumblr blog. Not because I really need one more thing to keep up with, but because I wanted a spot to indulge a bit of my own fangirlishness from time to time. (Without clogging up my regular blogs, that is. No…

Wednesday WTFkry: NSFW Edition
Posted in blog, wtf

Yeah, it’s WTFkry of the NSFW kind, but it’s so messed up I *had* to post it. Well, it certainly puts “disco stick” back on the vocabulary list, doesn’t it? I’m trying to figure out how to work this into a book, ’cause you *know* Phin would totally do this. (Thanks to Jess Haines for the heads up.)…
