Socialize What?

A couple of years ago when I first started the whole writing gig, I got sucked into the social networking game. It was the big thing – start the platform before you have the product so that people would know who I was. I’ll leave the analysis of whether that’s a good or a bad thing up to other people. Short story is, for all that I’m somewhat of a introvert in real life, I actually do enjoy the social aspects of blogging and tweeting and all the rest of it. (Maybe it’s that whole I was a middle-school geek vibe – behind the electronic curtain, I’m still a bit of a mess, but no one can really see that from where I’m standing. Friday Afternoon WTFkry

Ladies and gents…I present to you: the Banana Candle. Which sounds like it should be a euphemism for something, but alas…it is not. As per When Used Books Attack: Banana Edition, (quoted below) this glorious recipe can be found in “Bo Bold With Bananas.” And I’m all for getting bold with my food, but this seems to be moving into full on fruit peen-landia. (With a cherry on top, no less! See what I did there? Huh? Huh? Phallic innuendo, FTW) Which is okay. But that’s mayo on that there peely-o-peen. (I mean, icing? Sure, I could sorta see that. Might be fun. But mayo? Ick.) This monstrosity is called a Banana Candle, which consists of a banana stuck in a pineapple slice, with mayonnaise and a maraschino cherry on top. Word-Whore Thursday

I’m over at Word Whores today talking a bit about daydreams (And I dug into my muppet nerdom past to pull out a little Rainbow Connection video too, because I dig Kermit.) Otherwise…I’m on the downhill side of the draft for A Trace of Moonlight (and should be done within the next week or so. And then I’ll be madly revising for a few weeks, but it’s all good.). I am giving myself a little early present this Sunday though – my stress levels have been extra high for the last few weeks (to the point where I actually almost bought a ticket to London…just because I’d never been there and thought it might a great place to crash for a few days.
