Changing of the Guard

Ladies and Gents, I figured that I’d just get the word out that I am now represented by the Agent of Awesomesauce known as Suzie Townsend! ** As most of you are probably aware, Colleen Lindsay is stepping away from the agent world and is moving on to bigger and better things at Penguin. And I just want to say how grateful I am that I was her client for even a short while – she got me my deal at Pocket and that’s a Very. Good. Thing. I wish her the best of luck with her future endeavors. I’m very much looking forward to cooking up new sorts of mischief with Suzie (perhaps my new YA wip will be one of her babies in the near future? Reality Check

I almost joined a blog hop a few weeks ago. The theory here is that people all sign up on one person’s blog and then post the information on their blog, thereby leading to a what would hopefully be a stream of visitors from everywhere and possibly some new followers. However, I decided to check the status of some of the people already on the list before jumping in. And most of them were either authors, or those hoping to become published – which is fine. But at least one of those was very bitter. I’ll admit I’ve heard rumors of such people – but until now, I hadn’t really run across one. Said aspiring author had finally given up on the publishing establishment and had moved into self-publishing. Which is actually fine – quite a few authors out there have decided that the traditional route is not for them… Read more

A Room with a View

Or maybe not so much. When I arrived at the hotel yesterday afternoon, I had the interesting surprise of getting up to my room to find the door open and the previous occupants leaving. The previous having checked in only a few minutes before me. The couple gave me this harried look and mumbled something about just getting out of my way. The nice hotel employee assured me the room was clean. “Okay. Then what’s wrong with it?” He shrugged. “The view.” Which is to say, there isn’t really much of one at all – unless you consider a set of locked sliding doors that open into a small cement cell much of a view. Personally, I don’t really care since most of what I do in a hotel room is sleep, but I sent Jeffe a text to let her know the view was on the shitty side.  When… Read more

Remember when I said I was going to talk more about my off-roading trip last weekend? Yeah, I lied. But hey – here’s a little flavor and maniacal laughter from Lucy… Also, I sent a mysterious package to my editor today.
