Stealth Blogging

I told myself I wouldn’t blog this weekend, just to give myself a bit of a break. Apparently I can’t stay away, though, and so here I am.

In truth, I wanted a few days away – just given how horrible last week was health-wise, it felt good to *not* be a complete wreck. So, yesterday I went shopping. Bought some pants. A travel kit. Other odds and ends.

On a side note, here’s a big fat WTF to Banana Republic. The last few years I have loved wearing your jeans. But now you seem to have switched your sizes to UK numbers and shrunk them. I *was* wearing your size 6. I could barely fit into your UK size 10 (30?) Looking on your online site reviews though, it seems I’m not the only one complaining. Sounds like they aren’t shrinking right anymore either. I guess I’ll just chalk it up as dodging a bullet and spend my money somewhere else. (Randomly? The name of the girl helping me was Nazgul. I shit you not.)

I also went a little nuts at Williams Sonoma. Bought more quickbread mix. I’m eating Snickerdoodle bread right now, in fact. NOM. For shits and giggles I also bought one of their Ebelskiver pans. And chocolate pancake batter mix. Gonna whip some of those up next week and stuff them with peanut butter and marshmallow fluff. šŸ™‚

And then I stayed up until 2 AM, going through my revisions. I actually ended up scrapping the keyboard and doing things the old fashioned way with pen and paper. Sometimes things flow better for me when I can doodle. And I think I’ve got most of the plot changes worked out now. Which is good. But there were definitely some darker moments when I just felt like everything I’d written was complete crap – the plot, the romantic elements, the dialog, all of it. I’m still not sure how I conned anyone into buying this thing. And the gods only know how I’m going to pull off some of these plot changes, but I’m going to try.

Let’s see, what else. Oh yeah – took the kids to see How to Train Your Dragon today. It was utterly awesome. We didn’t see the 3D version, mostly because I didn’t want to spend the extra money just to have Lucy throw a fit and not watch it, but it worked out well. I won’t spoil it for anyone, but it’s definitely worth seeing in the theater.

Lastly, a note to Red Door Spa.  I only frequent your establishment on a semi-regular basis, and while bikini waxes aren’t really pleasant for anyone on either side of the table, I really have to say I’m rather unhappy that my waxer today actually admitted she wasn’t very good at them. I would have figured that out on my own, just given the sheer amount of wax that appears to be left on my ass and the fact that she had to keep going over and over the same area. Considering what I pay for the service, I would prefer you find people who know wtf they are doing.  Thank you.
