Following Up

Posted in updates | 6 Comments
Of course, the problem with the sort of announcement that I had on the blog yesterday is that it’s a rather hard act to follow. It’s not like I’m going to look out my door and see a posse of photographers or anything. The work doesn’t stop merely because I made it up another rung of the pubbing ladder, and really, I’m only at the first step.   Life does go back to normal – as evidenced by the entire abandonment of anything remotely resembling neatness exploded across my family room last night.                                   I still had to make dinner. I missed Grey’s Anatomy. (Though the show has pretty much jumped the shark at this point, so I’m not sure that’s any big loss).  Connor dumped a bowl of popcorn on the floor. I… Read more

Yay! I can finally proudly announce that I have officially sold my book, Shadow of the Incubus (plus two more)  to Lauren McKenna, Executive Editor at Pocket Books via auction. Addendum: Danielle Poiesz is my actual editor! (And she’s awesome too!) I’ve got tentative release dates for 2011 and 2012 for all three, but I’ll know more about that once I finish with the revisions. 🙂 ***and kudos to my lovely agent, Colleen. She’s the bomb!***… Read more

Boatload of Mystery

Posted in wtf | 4 Comments
You know, I’m checking my blog stats today and I can’t help but notice that this site seems to be linked to from another blog: https://cjsecretgarden.blogspot.com. Which is fine, except it’s a closed blog so I don’t really know who they are. Which is also fine. (Hell, I don’t know who a lot of people are.) The irony? The last visit from there that’s linked to me is https://cjsecretgarden.blogspot.com/2010/02/boatload-of-shit.html *scratching my head* There’s a part of me that would really like to know *which* boatload of shit I’m being compared to. A sloop? A catamaran? Perhaps it’s all about schooners packed to the poop deck with horse manure? Although honestly, I’m not sure my ego could handle anything smaller than at least a good-sized Yacht. Ah well. It’s anchors a-weigh for lobotomy bay!… Read more

In Case You Were Wondering…

Posted in snow | 4 Comments
…*THIS* is what the tattered remains of a canvas-topped gazebo look like after getting three feet of snow dumped on it. *cough* The metal struts broke quite nicely on their own, but mr myn and I went out with a knife and a shovel and cut out a lot of the canvas ourselves. Aside from the fact that it was making some really weird creaking, we were afraid that it would either 1) collapse explosively and something metal would smash through the sliding glass door or, more importantly, 2) a person would walk under it just as it collapsed and get slammed with 2 feet thick blocks of sn-ice. (The bottom was completely frozen solid). And here, my neighbors decided to throw some bread out onto the snow and attracted a nice flock of gulls from the nearby pond. I’ve been tossing out left over birdseed every few hours. I’ve… Read more
