NaNo and Sequels

Ugh. I’m 1000 words behind now – mostly because the last two days have been crazy enough that by the time I actually sat down to write it was nearly midnight. But on a good note, I’ve got a good 100 page start into ShadowWeaver now, so even if some of it gets cut (as it undoubtedly will), the foundation is forming nicely. It’s funny, because I’ve been on the phone with several agents now and they all want to know what else I’m working on. And of course, I’m happy to say I’ve got the start of Book 2 cooking along, as well as a fantasy stand alone. And then, I get asked, what else? And that’s a tough one to answer, honestly. Little Fish, Big Pond

To say I feel a bit overwhelmed would be an understatement. The last 24 hours have been a whirlwind of phone calls and emails, speculation and extremely interesting developments. I’ve gone from being a drop in the bucket to feeling a bit like a minnow in a shark tank. Not that that’s a *bad* thing. Just that things are moving faster than I ever dreamed.I’ve got some research to do this weekend and some decisions to make. I’m trying to enjoy the process, but for every question I get answered, ten more pop up. LOL. Not sure I’ll ever know it all. Either way, all I want in the end is to be able to look back at this time 20 years from now and know that whatever happens, and whatever decisions I make, that they were the best ones I could have made. The Trouble with Transformers

This is sarcasm, you understand. As far as I’m concerned, there’s nothing wrong with Transformers at all. Hell, when I found out Chevy was offering a Transformers package I nearly wet myself. I mean, I would be the absolute coolest mom in the world if I could park Bumblebee in my driveway. (And yeah, I know it’s not quite the *right* shade of yellow, but that didn’t stop me from building one online. $40 k later…eh, I’m a tad less likely, but you never know.). Anyway, the point of this mini-rant is that Connor is mildly obsessed with them. Just like he was mildly obsessed with Thomas the Tank Engine a few years ago, and Speed Racer after that.
