Word Whore ~ Fox and Willow Thursday

Posted in blog | Tagged , , , , | Leave a comment
Just a quick update post here – I’m nicely entrenched in my copy edits for  A Trace of Moonlight and should have those back to the editor next week. It’s getting rather surreal, honestly – I’m almost done. After the first-pass-pages, that’s it. My contract will be over and then it’s on to trying to sell the next big thing. Whatever that is. Guess I’ll find out, eh? In the meantime – this week is all about self-publishing over at Word Whores, so I’ve got a few things to mention there today, but definitely check out some of the other posts – there’s some really great information about it and it’s worth seeing the experiences of other writers. And of course, Fox & Willow has an update, so definitely check that out as well. 🙂… Read more

The Value of Words

Posted in blog | Tagged , , , | 2 Comments
With A Trace of Moonlight coming out this fall, I’m starting to turn my eye toward my next bout of promo and swag and all the other things that may or might not improve sales. (And incidentally, there is a cover up over at Amazon and various other places, but it is a LEAKED cover – not the finished one and not of good size or quality. Rest assured I’ll post a final copy here once I’m allowed.) At any rate, one of the things I’ve noticed is that my Kindle books are getting tagged as being overpriced. Which is nothing new. My ebooks run the same price as the MMPB – and that’s the price set by the publisher. I have zero control over it. And I’m not objecting to people being unhappy with the prices – after all with so many books running around at the .99 price… Read more

Fox & Willow

So happy to announce that the first page of Fox & Willow is now live! (New pages up every Monday and Thursday, so please check it out and follow along.) I can’t begin to tell you how happy I am that it’s up  – and Aimo has completely outdone herself. I’m truly in awe of her talent, and so grateful we’ve been able to work together on this project. I’m still learning how to best wrap my novelist head around the comic-book medium, but so far it has been fun. (Of course, we can only show it a little at a time – which is hard when we’ve got a chunk of pages wrapped up and we just want to share them all at once!) In the meantime, revisions for A Trace of Moonlight are finished and have been sent into the editor. I’ll be getting the copyedits back in… Read more

Off The Grid

Posted in blog | Tagged , , , , | 1 Comment
I’m going offline for a few days (or at least as offline as I get – which means I’ll still be “on” but I won’t be interacting much, if at all. I’ve got an extremely tight deadline for my revisions on A Trace of Moonlight and if I want to make sure it makes it into your hot little hands by the October publishing  date, then I have to take a few steps. Which for me means stepping away from blogging. (Although whenever I attempt to do this, I always seem to get the best blog subject ideas.  And then I know I’m just procrastinating away from doing what needs doing – better to just remove the element from the equation. ) I’ve got a guest poster for the next week or so for Word-Whores (and if you’re interested in  that, just drop me a line via my Contact page… Read more

Muddle Headed

Posted in blog | Tagged , , , , , , , | Leave a comment
Sometimes it’s really awesome having artist friends – especially when you’re having a crappy day and they send you cute sketches of your DA2 character making out with smexy Fenris. (TY, Aimo! mwah!) Yeah. Anyway – so the thing about trying to keep up the blog here ever day is that it feels sort of odd. I’d always tried to keep the more “quality” posts here and the more random ones over at Blogger, but here I am. I spent a fair amount of time going through some of those imported posts this weekend, particularly on Saturday -right now I’ve only got the last year’s worth actually set up.  It’s a tad frustrating at times, because I realized I tended to get a lot more comments on the Blogger blog than here, but when I imported the posts here, I had to make a decision as to how I was… Read more
