Even though I normally reserve this stuff for my unofficial tumblr, I must post this here. 😀 The discerning eye will note that Fenris and F!Hawke are reading A Brush of Darkness. Because I enjoy fangirling myself too. (I’m sort of odd like that). Thanks to Aimo for being a good sport. Also, here’s the video if you want to watch the coloring process:…

One Of These Things is Not Like the Others

When I went to Disney World for RWA this year, I picked up a few little gifts for the kids. Among them was a set of little princess dolls for Lucy. She hates them. I don’t know why, but they’ve remained in my suitcase for nearly two months now. Untouched. Unloved. So I took them out this weekend and gave them a quick once over. And you can see they’re all sorta rosy and vacant looking. Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and Ariel. And then there’s Belle. Poor Belle. Belle looks…sallow, compared to the others. Wan and pale. The outcast. Is it because she’s French? The solo brunette in the bunch? The one princess who wasn’t bespelled in some fashion? It took me a while, but then I figured it out. Clearly, Belle is some sort of undead doll. I’d say zombie…but she’s French. So, I think by all the tropes that exist,…

I have tickets. Or more to the point, I have *a* ticket. I also have a Meet & Greet backstage pass for after the show. It was flipping expensive. So yes, yours truly may now go and make a complete ass out of herself next February when David Garrett comes back through the DC area. (Where upon I can shove my book in his face and say “See! See! I am awesome too! Call me and we can hang out and be awesome together. Hanging out.”) Ha, ha. Just kidding. (Well, I might give him a copy of my book anyway, though I doubt he’ll read it. It will probably be left behind back stage, and I’ll never know. Although I’ve heard he sends most of his fan stuff back home to his mom.. Hope she’s not offended by daemon smut.) I’ve been told I must wear my Steampunk hat.…

So I bought a netbook today. Kind of a mini laptop – it only has a 10 inch screen, but it does have 2 gigs of memory and 160 gig hard drive. No optical drives, but I’ve got an external cd/dvd drive at home so that’s no big deal. Besides, most of what I need to install on it can be done via thumb drive, external HD or downloaded. So, why did I buy it? I already have a beast of a computer at home, and I’m certainly no stranger to the gaming laptop (I’ve owned two Alienwares and a Sager so I know of which I speak – all 10 to 13 pounds of them). I’ve been using my work laptop for travel and writing, but it’s on its last legs. Between the fact that it’s nearly 3 years old and all the scripts/big-brother crap the office keeps pushing…
