Lego Con, Part 1

Posted in blog | Tagged , , , | 2 Comments
Okay – so here’s the thing – I spent several hours on Saturday in my version of paradise – namely a Lego convention. (I’m sure some of you don’t get it. That’s okay. There was a film crew there doing a documentary, so I suppose it’s possible I was caught on camera somewhere…) Anyway – took a ton of pictures – so I’m uploading a bunch of them now and then I’ll sift through the DH’s camera and see if I can find any that aren’t repeats. Some of the pics are a little blurry and some just don’t capture the sheer amount of detail in them, so you’ll just have to take my word on how freaking incredible they were. (And OMG – some are nostalgic in the extreme. My brother *had* all those old school space ones and we used to play with them for hours.) Keep an… Read more

Awesome Con DC update

Posted in blog | Tagged , , , , | 1 Comment
Just a quick note to mention that the panel at AwesomeCon is now official. 🙂 Here’s the scoop: April 21, 12 PM: Room 102A – Writing Fantasy: Novels and Comics In publishing today, fantasy is a crowded field that encompasses the supernatural and paranormal, high fantasy and more science fiction-ish elements such as time travel and alternate realities. Join novelists and comics writers to learn what both publishers and fans expect from writers today. Justic Jordan, Allison Pang, Diana Peterfreund, Meagan Spooner and Alma Katsu. There will be a signing after that (tho I’m not sure if it’s in the same room yet or if it will be somewhere else.) I won’t be selling any books, but I may give a few copies away. Should be a good time, so come on down and join us! In other news, I should have a few Carniepunk ARCs in my hands next… Read more

Con Aftermath

Posted in blog | Tagged , , , , , , , | 1 Comment
Clearly I didn’t post much the last few days – not even twitter or tumblr. Part of that was just time (and lousy signal)…and also just being so tired I couldn’t make the effort. (No, I don’t know who photobombed Gandalf there, but I gave up trying to get pictures without people. And lego people rock.) Not that the con wasn’t fun – it was, but I think it was a tad too crowded for my tastes overall. (And right now I’m pretty grumpy – lack of sleep and just plain travel fatigue will do that to a person.) Most of my pictures came out blurry (of course) so I don’t actually have much to show, but as far as recaps go: Thursday afternoon, I got in late in the afternoon, met with my agent and toured the agency office and then headed down to the Javits center with Emma… Read more
