Home Stretch

I’m in the final bits of this round of revisions. It’s a heady feeling. Partially because I’m almost done. Partially because I’m not entirely sure how it ends. Which probably sounds a bit odd. I’ve got a fair idea of what’s going to happen, based on the other changes I’ve made, but I think I’m just going to have to see what the characters do when I get there.

In other news, I was hit over the head and asked if I might like to present the PRISM awards for the FF&P Gathering at National this year. Which sounds more grand than it is. Not that the awards aren’t awesome, because they are. Just that I only got asked because the contest coordinators can’t make it this year, and seeing as I’m the web person for FF&P (and therefore spent some time coding the site for the contest), they thought I might like to do it. Which is pretty cool, though writers can be a pretty introverted bunch – I’m not sure there was a huge line of people begging to take the job.

And I am going to do it. I don’t think I’m a particularly great public speaker, but I figure I ought to be able to read nominees and winners off a card without too much trouble. Plus, I had already ordered this killer SteamPunk costume to wear for the party, so I might as well flaunt it a bit. Not that I want to MC the entire event, though – I’m probably too much of a wimp to do that, though I suppose we’ll have to see. We’re still in the process of trying to find a new venue so I’m not sure what we’ll actually have by way of entertainment or food.

Guess we’ll see how it goes. 🙂

    Three cheers on the revisions!

And breathe, you'll be fine for the PRIZM, especially if there's booze for the audience.

Dude, I'd totally MC that event. I'd kill it, don'tcha know.

Except, don't you have to, like, be a member of the RWA to go to that? Would I fit in? I mean, I know I look like a romance writer and all, but I really don't do it that much.

Maybe you should ask if they want me to fly to Nashville and MC. Tell 'em I'll wear my kilt. O:-)

Nashville actually got washed out, so it's been moved to Orlando. Like Disney World, in fact.

And technically, we can bring non-FF&P guests if we want, so if you and the family would like to stow away in my suitcase, I do believe the rooms are going pretty cheaply. 🙂

And you would *totally* rock a kilt.  Just like this guy:

I'm breathing. In and out. In and out.

    Where's the vodka? Simon?
