It’s here! Carniepunk is officially out today – so here’s your chance to finally fine out whats going on with Melanie and how she got her magic violin! (And read a ton of other fantastic stories by some of the best UF authors in the business, of course.) It’s been a long ride getting this book out to the readers – several years in the making, in fact – and I’m so grateful that it’s finally here and happening. That being said, I’ve got a copy in my hands to give away to some lucky duck – so if you’d like a chance to win, leave a comment down below and tell me what’s your favorite carnival/theme park ride. (I’m partial to the Scrambler, incidentally.) Open until Wednesday at midnight, EDT. International entries are fine. Normally, the random winner would be chosen via hedgehog, but seeing as my Tumbleweed is… Read more
Looking for something fun to do today to shake off some of the negativity of the last few posts, so I’m going to do a flash-fiction writing prompt. I don’t normally do them, but they can be fun, and hey, prizes. Or *a* prize, I guess. I’ll mail a random winner a cover flat of A Trace of Moonlight (or any other cover flat/swag thing user wants). So here’s the picture: Post 500 words or less in the comments below. You’ve got until some random time on Friday or Saturday to get it done and I’ll draw on Sunday. Incidentally, the title of the picture is called “Waiting” by Donato Giancola. (Check out the gallery for a ton of additional artwork – lots of familiar book covers in there.) What is she waiting for? Death? A lover? Alien Bears? Only YOU can say.… Read more
Okay – I’m all over the place today – guest posts and giveaways and all that fun stuff. I’ll be updating the links in this post as things come up, but I wanted to give a massive shout out to all my fabulous friends and family (and fans!) who have been tweeting and Facebooking and everything else today. You guys are how books get sold and the reason I write and I can’t thank you all enough. (And major props go to Aimo for the awesomesauce gif up there. A complete surprise and so brilliant. I just can’t stop laughing at it.) Also – I have this lovely piece of art from Jakface – Hipster Talivar doing the Hustle. Because that’s what he does. Sometimes. (And you can read that particular scene over at Wicked Little Pixie today!) Okay, links and places…. 1) I’ve got a release day part over… Read more
And here we go… First things first – my entire blog tour schedule can be found over at Fang-tastic Books – check it out to see where I’ll be for the next month or so, and enter for a chance to win one of ten copies of A Sliver of Shadow. Second – My Once & Future podcast is now up – go listen and laugh if you like – it was my first one and I was crazy nervous to start with, so I probably sound a bit silly, but it was a lot of fun. (Chance to win either BoD or SoS there, as well.) Third – Go leave a comment at Jeffe Kennedy’s blog for a chance to win a custom drawn BoD or SoS scene/character sketchcard by the fabulous Aimo! Fourth – Check out the top 10 pieces of art inspired by the BoD/SoS series over… Read more
Welcome to my official blog post for the Mistletoe Madness Blog Hop! Be sure to visit all the the bloggers on the hop via the link above for a chance to win some great prizes, as well as a chance at the grand prize – a Nook, pre-loaded with books! (Including a copy of A Brush of Darkness!) Now…what am I giving away? A lovely bunch of swag, including signed cover flats, trading cards, bookmarks, a limited edition Brush of Darkness Christmas card…and a stuffed hedgehog. Why a hedgehog? Because I own one…and as you can see, she is the source of all my writing muse, from her prickly outside to her squishy inside to her little chocolate chip nose. Like my brain, she tends to run all night even when I’d prefer her to sleep. All you need to do to enter is leave a comment telling me what… Read more
