Word Whore Thursday: Holidays

Posted in jeffe, kindle, word whores | 1 Comment
I’m over at Word-Whores today talking a little bit about holidays. Think I just got sorta off-base and rambly though. Suppose that’s okay. Otherwise, I just want to give a quick shout out to Jeffe Kennedy for her release yesterday of Feeding the Vampire! Go check it out! šŸ™‚ Also somewhat randomly, @kindlegraph has created a funky new service which allows authors to “sign” Kindle copies of books. Essentially, if you have a Kindle and you want an autograph of sorts – you go sign up for this free service and then I customize a message and attach digital signature and it automatically gets downloaded to your Kindle, just like an ebook. šŸ™‚ So, if you’re interested in getting something like that from me, go here and make a request.  (It’s still in beta, so there may be a few bumps, but if this can get expanded into other formats… Read more

Unicorns Abound

Clearly this is a bumper week as far as receiving unicorns goes. The lovely glass rainbow unicorn on the table (and helpfully modeled by Lucy) was a gift  from the awesomesauce Jeffe. ** (And really, it doesn’t get much better than rainbows AND unicorns – but even better when they’re all squished into one.) The haiku for an ARC contest is still going strong – you’ve got two more days to get your entries in. (And incidentally, each entry is going into a SQL database and weighted accordingly based on points and then drawn randomly based upon that. You know. In case you care.) Phin’s Haiku for the day: Bacon is crunchyI left you some sparkles inyour underwear drawer ** Special congrats to Jeffe for making it into PAN this week! šŸ˜€… Read more

Petals & Thorns

Just a quick shout out to Jeffe and her new novella coming out on July 13th! It’s an erotic retelling of Beauty and the Beast  – and since I got to beta read it, I can say it’s pretty damn hot. Of course, I’m rather partial to the title too. šŸ˜‰ It’s sort of funny, since when Jeffe was asking for possible title suggestions, I threw that out there  – half as a joke and half seriously. I mean, it *is* the name of my gaming forum.(Of course, if you poke around on Google, you’ll also find it as the name for a BDSM site as well, so it’s pretty fitting.) Heh, and how surprised was I to find out the editors over at LooseID actually chose it?  Full of win, all the way around. šŸ™‚… Read more

Fancy Pants

Posted in jeffe, random | 9 Comments
Jeffe called me fancy via IM yesterday. I know, I didn’t get it either, until I read her blog. In it, she states that “if you’ve gotten your act together, you get to be “fancy.” If not, well, at least you’re wholesome and charming.” By that, I’m assuming she means that I do, in fact, have my act together. At least as far as the pubbing world goes. (Goddess knows my housekeeping act couldn’t be in more of a shambles than if a herd of flatulent elephants were to come bowling through the living room. Hell, it might actually be an improvement. Have fun thinking about that, Jeffe, on your way here tomorrow. Yes, we *are* going out for dinner.) But that’s really not all that accurate either, I don’t think.  I certainly don’t feel as I know enough to be handing out advice about getting published to anyone. (Or getting an agent,… Read more
